Qatar Aviation Services

Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) at Doha International Airport provides all services from Passenger Services to Cargo Handling, IATA-Ticketing to Executive Handling, for all scheduled and ad hoc flights into Qatar. Employing more than 5,000 people in an operation that runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) looks after every passenger, bag and piece of cargo that passes through Doha International Airport. Founded in 2000 and employing 1,300 staff, QAS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qatar Airways that provides services to every airline operating through Doha International Airport. As the sole ground handling agent, it is therefore responsible for all passenger, aircraft, and cargo handling.

QAS is made up of four units:

  • Ground services manages general operations airside such as loading and unloading, baggage build up, weight and balance
  • Customer Services handles passengers at check in, boarding, lounges, lost and found, porters and transfers
  • Cargo Services handles cargo throughout the terminal
  • Engineering, which supplies, operates and maintains all vehicles and equipment operating airside area

QAS’ Hub Control Center and computerised gate operating systems at DIA. The center allows QAS to monitor and direct aircraft around the airport as effectively as possible. This will become increasingly important in the coming years given the rapid increase in traffic that is forecast to pass through the airport.
