Baggage

Hand baggage regulations

Passengers using Doha International Airport are expected to follow the hand baggage guidelines set by the Airline Operators Committee. These state that hand baggage carried onboard an aircraft must not exceed 56cm x 36cm x 23 cm (22” x 14” x 9”) weight is 7 KG.
You can check whether your baggage is the right size by using the measuring gauges found around the Check-in Hall and at the entrances of the Immigration Halls in Terminal A. If you are uncertain, please check with your airline.

Travelling with excess baggage

Do your suitcases exceed the maximum weight? Simply check in at your own airline’s desk. All baggage up to the maximum weight will then be checked in as normal. You will be referred to a special check-in desk for the remaining baggage items. Here, you can simply pay the surcharge for your excess baggage using cash, a bank card or credit card.

Prohibited hand baggage

Certain items may not be taken on board the aircraft as hand baggage. These items are listed in the List of Prohibited Hand Baggage Items drawn up by the European Union. You may not derive any rights from this list. Our security staff reserves the right to refuse any item for safety reasons at all times.

Outgoing luggage

Out of concern for safety of staff and following the instructions of Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, the weight of one piece of luggage has been limited to 32 KG irrespective of the number of pieces accompanying a passenger. Extra charge shall be exacted on extra weight which is differs from one airline to another.
